Phased - Harvestworks

Please find below 3 work samples that best represent my past experience and future intetion with Phased.

1. Awaken at New York Live Arts

Awaken weaves original material with resonant choreography from Selwyn’s 25 years of rich repertory. The piece explores the struggle between distraction, a quest for certainty, and living in an embodied present. Shifting sections of the work zero in on our relationship with ambiguity, control, trust, overthinking, vulnerability, and resilience.

In the projection design, the goal was to support and extend the performance through imagery that is both visceral and restrained. Projections function as an extension of the stage composition, completing the visual landscape and reinforcing the symbolic language of the work without overtaking the choreography.

2. Already There by Britta Joy Peterson

Already There invites audience to move through an immersive environment shaped by projection, sound, and choreography. Projections are carefully integrated with the architecture, activating walls, and cubes and other surfaces to guide audiences through shifting states of light and rhythm. Visual compositions unfold in relation to the music and movement, swelling and receding to shape the pace of each room.

Rather than functioning as a backdrop, projection is used as a spatial material—directing attention, modulating atmosphere, and influencing how visitors orient themselves within the space. As audiences wind through the installation, the projections heighten sensory awareness and foreground experiences often filtered out in everyday environments. Visitors may find themselves lingering, moving together, or resting within the projected landscape. The work emphasizes duration and shared presence, creating conditions where dwelling and togetherness become essential rather than incidental.
